Current Status

Wake County has sent a letter to the City and School System inquiring about their willingness to participate (will the city give the land and will the school system allow the library onsite?). The school board has responded positively!

The next regular county commissioner meeting is Monday, Feb. 2, 5 p.m. .  This will be a virtual meeting due to the weather.  

The county commission will have a work session on Monday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m., on the 2nd floor of the Justice Center.  The staff will be presenting their work to find a site for Athens Replacement Library. Public cannot speak at work sessions, but we need folks to listen and take notes.  The best guess is that the commission will vote on a site soon!
